COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Today, the Portman for Senate campaign announced it purchased two Snapchat "geofilters" surrounding Ohio Stadium for tomorrow’s much anticipated spring football game. Snapchat users in the vicinity of “The Shoe” will be able to show support for Rob Portman in one filter and in the other filter users will be reminded of Ted Strickland’s awful record as governor. The filters will be active during the game.
In September, the Portman for Senate campaign launched its Students for Portman coalition with campus coordinators on over 30 college and university campuses across Ohio.
“Last year, The Ohio State University set an all-time record with 99,391 people in attendance at the spring football game. Tomorrow, they are expecting even more fans, and since Ted Strickland’s low-energy, ‘invisible’ campaign is desperate to hide his awful record from Ohio voters, we're using Snapchat to remind them of Ted’s time as governor when Ohio lost more than 350,000 jobs and ranked 48th in job creation," Portman campaign spokesperson Michawn Rich said. “We are proud to work with our impressive Students for Portman team that has helped us contact more than 1.5 million voters and ensure Rob Portman's message of pro-growth policies for better wages and more jobs reaches students across Ohio during this campaign.”
