COLUMBUS, Ohio – Today, prior to Rob Portman and failed former Governor Ted Strickland’s joint editorial board interview with the Toledo Blade, the Portman for Senate Campaign highlighted the differences in the records between the two candidates. As Democrats continue to pull ads for Ted Strickland and privately admit he will lose, there’s a clear reason why he was named the worst candidate of the cycle.
From Michawn Rich, spokesperson: “The difference in the records of Ted Strickland and Rob couldn't be more clear for Northwest Ohio. As governor, Ted oversaw the loss of 32 Northwest Ohio factories that employed 3,700 workers due to closures and moves to other states. In the Senate, Rob has worked to protect Lake Erie, fought to help Toledo with its drinking water crisis, teamed up with local workers to fight against illegal imports, and led the charge in tackling Ohio's addiction epidemic. There’s a reason the Ohio Teamsters, the Ohio FOP, the IUOE Local 18, and the United Mine Workers endorsed Rob after previously supporting Ted: Ohio simply cannot afford a return to Retread Ted’s Ohio."
