$20 Million in Television Ads Cancelled
COLUMBUS, Ohio – This morning, Harry Reid's Senate Majority PAC began cancelling their last reservations, officially leaving Ted Strickland's underfunded campaign with no allies. Last Friday evening, the DSCC announced they were abandoning the retread candidate, cancelling the last $3.8 million of their reservation. Both the DSCC and Senate Majority PAC originally reserved $10 million each in Ohio, and now both are on track to spend $0 in support of Ted Strickland. The Portman campaign issued the following statement:
From Portman spokesperson Michawn Rich: "Over the course of this campaign, Ted Strickland has run the worst campaign in America and become a national political laughingstock who has failed to meet fundraising goals and lost union endorsements. With today's news, the end for Ted is near as even Democrats admit that Ted Strickland has the worst record of any Senate candidate in America when Ohio lost 350,000 jobs and ranked 48th in job creation."
