Sens. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and Rob Portman (R-Ohio) on Sunday offered up their respective parties' take on the latest NBC News/Marist polls, which show Republicans with a slight advantage in crucial battleground states.
"I think we will hold the Senate," Schumer told Chuck Todd on NBC's "Meet the Press."
Saying Democrats have an advantage on economic issues and a better ground game and that voters won't see their individual elections as a national referendum, Schumer told Todd that it would be a good Nov. 4 for Democrats. It's most important, he said, for Democrats to keep a majority in case there's a vacancy on the Supreme Court.
